Yvonne Artaud

Yvonne Artaud passed away around 4am on Wednesday August 5th at the age of 85. She will be remembered by many from the early days of Auroville, for her work on the journal “Equals One” and as founder of the Equals One school, which was attended by quite a few Auroville children before Aspiration School opened in December 1971.
About
She was officially in charge of Auroville Education for a short time around 1972-73. From late 1976 to mid-1978 she and her partner Medhananda lived in Fraternity, before founding the Identity Research Institute in Reddiarpalayam.
She has lived in the Ashram old peoples’ home ‘Care’ for several years, and was in failing health, which deteriorated rapidly over the last few weeks.
