Long-time Aurovilian

On Wednesday July 2nd, at 11.45 am, our good friend and brother Aurovilian Serge Brelin (French, of Auroville Press and Auroville Papers), very peacefully left his body in the Auroville Health Centre, surrounded by his family of friends. Serge had been confronting a cancer of the liver, which he bravely tackled during this last year with purely alternative means only. He would have been just 53 in August 2008.

Serge's body remains in the Health Centre's special room where Aurovilians can pay a last homage to this long-time Aurovilian who so passionately battled with us and for us, - for the sake of Mother's Dream.

While holding Serge up in our prayers during his transit, our love and strength go out to his life partner Luisa and his other close friends.

It was with shock and deep sadness that the community was informed of the passing of its Chief Architect, Roger Anger, early morning of January 15th in France. Roger would have been 85 in March, 2008.

Dutch Aurovilian Gustaaf Carton (Guus), who lived in Sri Ma with his partner Albert, left his body on Saturday, January 19th in Puducherry where he had been living for two months time. He was 63 years old.
Gajendran

A Star in the Auroville Sports Field

Our Aurovilian brother Gaje (S. Gajendran) left his body on Sunday, March 2nd, at around 10 pm, in the ICU of Apollo Hospital, Chennai. Gaje succumbed to multi-organ failure which may have been caused by earlier neglect of a chronic health problem. He was 43 years old.
