Guus
Dutch Aurovilian Gustaaf Carton (Guus), who lived in Sri Ma with his partner Albert, left his body on Saturday, January 19th in Puducherry where he had been living for two months time. He was 63 years old.
Guus joined Auroville in 1995, after which he functioned as caretaker of the Quiet Healing Centre during the first years of the place. Apart from giving massage, he also trained people in giving massage, while specialising in foot reflexology. Guus continued these practices later in the context of the Auroville Health Center, for which he also worked as social worker in Auroville’s surrounding villages.
His good friends know him for his fine, dry humour and care of detail.
Guus' remains were buried on early Thursday morning, January 24th, in Adventure’s burial ground. His brother from Holland had flown over to be present.
