A variety of approaches, inspired by Sri Aurobindo and the Mother's vision, are offered in the educational institutions within Auroville. AV schools focus on the whole child, creativity, and lifelong learning. Auroville and Outreach schools offer education for both Auroville residents and children from nearby villages. From kindergartens with their play-based learning to primary, middle, and high schools with a focus on self-discovery, there is a unique fit for every student.

Education would be given, not with a view to passing examinations and getting certificates and posts, but for enriching the existing faculties and bringing forth new ones.
