Served Auroville from the late 1970s to the 1990s

Nagaraja Rao who was in Auroville from 1973 till 1996 passed away on 6th September 2012 at Pondicherry. He served the Auroville community in various capacities and as an Aurovilian from the late 70s to mid 90s.

About

He came to Pondicherry when Mother left her physical body in November 1973 and stayed on thereafter. He was holding responsible positions with sincerity and dignity. We pray that Mother takes him on his onward journey in spirit. Our sympathies are with all those who loved him.

Rosine Debode

A Pioneering Aurovilian

Rosine Debode, a pioneer Aurovilian, passed into the Light on January 4, 2012 in Auroville. She returned home to Auroville only three months prior to complete her journey of 82 years. Rosine, who was originally from Belgium, lived for about five years in the mid seventies in Auroville. She built a permanent home in Certitude as part of an early group of houses designed by Piero and Gloria. It was after Rosine’s son visited Pondicherry and brought home a picture of the Mother that Rosine left everything to dedicate her life to Auroville and the vision of Sri Aurobindo and Mother.
D. Perumal

Dedicated Worker at Fertile Windmill

On Monday, January 30th at around 11.30am long-term Aurovilian and brother D.Perumal peacefully passed away at the house of his daughter Jayagandhi at Kottakarai Farm due to heart failure, at the age of 87.
Sundaram

Managed CIC, Bharat Nivas

Our good friend and brother, Aurovilian P. Sundaram of Bharat Nivas left his body on January 28th at 8.30pm in Puducherry's EastCoast Hospital where he had been admitted on Jan 17th due to deterioration of his illness. Sundaram had been fighting kidney failure since many years, while also suffering from diabetes. He was just 45 years young.
