Sundaram
Our good friend and brother, Aurovilian P. Sundaram of Bharat Nivas left his body on January 28th at 8.30pm in Puducherry's EastCoast Hospital where he had been admitted on Jan 17th due to deterioration of his illness. Sundaram had been fighting kidney failure since many years, while also suffering from diabetes. He was just 45 years young.
Sundaram originally hailed from Kottakarai and joined Auroville in 1984. During the nineties he was actively participating in the then Centre of Indian Culture at Bharat Nivas, being in charge of the library and generally being the person who kept an eye on the various aspects of the Centre’s functioning. When his health started interfering he had to let this go. In more recent years he helped out in the reception of visitors at the Visitors Centre.
Sundaram lived with his wife Indrani and their children Sruti and Raguraman in Bharat Nivas. Our love and strength and support go out to them. On Sunday January 29th his body was cremated at Adventure’s Farewell Grounds where his young son bravely fulfilled the ritual tasks required from him.
Be well, Sundaram, and thank you for having been with us.
