Murugesan 

Known for Sharing and Writing Tamil Oral Legends

P.Murugesan, Aurovilian from Kottakarai, passed away on Tuesday, February 16th 2010, at 8:30 am in his home at Celebration at the age of 80.  Murugesan was the father of Palani (Aureka) and Vinayagam, and they were with him at the time of passing. 

About 

Aurovilians may remember him from the years he was working at Kottakarai Farm, Matrimandir, Nursery and from his work as Tamil historical story book writer. It was Murugesan who brought the legend of the Irumbai Temple, which was an oral story circulating in the villages, out in to the open. He also wrote a poem on Kottakarai's Kali Temple, in original Tamil verse. 

Murugesan’s body was taken to his previous house in Kottakarai  village, from where the cremation took place on Wednesday 17th February, with many of his friends and colleagues attending
