Michael
On Tuesday, April 20th early morning, Michael Mason of Samriddhi passed away at the age of 56 after suffering from a tumor in the brain for more than a year.
Michael, originally from U.K., came to Auroville in 1977 and had been wholeheartedly into afforestation ever since.
Throughout the process of his leaving, Michael was affectionately supported by a network of his friends and most of all his daughter Shona, who wrote to the community:
Dear all,
Michael from Samriddhi made his peace and left his body at 1.20 am Tuesday, April 20th 2010. He had previously expressed to me that he did not wish to be "viewed" in the cool box, so the box is covered. If people want to say goodbye, please come after 2.00 pm this afternoon to Samriddhi.
The burial will take place on Thursday, 22nd, at 5.00 pm in Samriddhi Forest.
