Dianne
Our good friend and fellow Aurovilian Dianne Bowler (British) left her body on Friday June 22nd night, at the age of 73. Dianne was suffering from a motor-neuron disease (ALS), the seriousness of which forced her to leave Auroville in March, 2012. While the suddenness of her demise may come as a shock to those who knew her, it may have considerably shortened her suffering.
Dianne joined Auroville in 2005 and we will miss her lively and highly entertaining and informative articles, which she so seemingly effortless wrote for AV Today and other papers. Her way of seeing Auroville, her caring relationship with the surrounding population, and her musings on our yoga or life in general formed a unique contribution to Auroville’s communications with the world. She will live on in Auroville.
We let her go with love and appreciation, and send our heartfelt support and sympathy to her husband Norman, her children and close friends. Cremation of her remains took place at the Trinity Church in Bristol in the afternoon of Tuesday, July 3rd, with several Aurovilians attending.
