Auroville Consulting

Auroville Consulting was founded by four Aurovilians and registered as a unit of the Auroville Foundation in 2010. We started as a small team of four or five facilitating, training, and capacity programs in sustainable development. Gradually, consulting projects with a focus on sustainability and renewable energy were added. Some of our first projects include the ‘Smart Control or Rural Renewable Energy & Storage’ (SCORRES) project and engagements with budding smart cities.

These have led to more collaborations with policymakers and government departments, both at the state and central government in India. Over the years we have grown into a young and enthusiastic team which has allowed us to diversify our activities and services. Today we live by our vision to be a knowledge-based enterprise providing the space for new activities and services to grow in response to the growing need for a sustainable future for all.

Mission

• To facilitate a two-way flow of knowledge exchange between Auroville and the outside world.
• To groom and nurture young talented and skilled Aurovilians to take up challenging developmental tasks while taking care of their basic needs.
• To undertake income-generating activities wherein the values, skills, experiences, and know-how of Auroville can be expressed and utilized.

We are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our business operations. From 2013, we have identified and calculated our greenhouse gas emissions. We continue to do our best to reduce and manage the emissions more effectively and offset the unavoidable ones by planting trees in the Auroville biosphere. We believe that by internalising the cost of carbon, every entity can help build a more equitable and green future.
