Marlenka Gray

"I feel that life is art; it isn’t a separate sort of thing. To make my surroundings a work of art, harmonious to the senses, that is of paramount importance for me. To paint with a brush or a pen on a piece of paper or on a ceramic piece, it does not matter. What matters is the creation of beauty. What constitutes beauty obviously differs to each one . . . I am happy when my work pleases another.

Education in art: in the space of about 5 years I’ve randomly studied drawing, painting and calligraphy in Woodstock, NY, and more recently, Brush Painting in South Korea for 3 months."

Strangely enough, in her self-presentation, Marlenka forgets to mention that she is also very fond of music, particularly jazz: in several concerts in Auroville, she has interpreted jazz classics with great talent and wide success.
