T.S. Mani

Devoted to Sri Aurobindo and the Mother

In the early morning of December 21st, our friend and brother T.S. Mani of Fraternity, one of the Aurovilians of the first hour, passed away in PIMS, where he had been taken on Friday 17th due to cardiac and respiratory problems. He was 66 years old.

About

T.S. Mani, who hailed from a village near Villupuram, and who was one of the people digging the vast site from which the Matrimandir was to emerge in the early seventies, joined the Matrimandir workers as one of the original carpenters and later on, when his health deteriorated, continued a steady presence doing Chamber duty there. He was a quiet, friendly man, totally devoted to Sri Aurobindo and Mother and steadfastly dedicating his life and work to them.

His wife Padmavathi and his 4 daughters, their husbands and grandchildren were in the hospital at the time of his passing, and our love and sympathy go out to them. His remains were buried on December 21st at Adventure's Farewell grounds in the late afternoon.
