Jagran
On Monday May 26th, our good friend and brother, Aurovilian Jagran (Maurizio d’Angelo) from Italy passed away at AUM hospital at the age of 71. Jagran joined Auroville in 2009, but shortly after met with a stroke, which he bravely overcame.
Following a fall, he then underwent hip replacement and in the last years he had been battling with cancer while staying at Arka. Both his daughter Alice and son Sid had been closely at his side the last weeks, and certainly during the last few days when he was taken to AUM.
Being an upbeat, strong and courageous person, Jagran managed between all these ailments to delight us residents for some time with his fine and organic Italian-touch food items, produced by himself and brought out via his Auro Health Food unit. Thank you for this!
After a few peaceful days in Auroshilpam’s temporary Farewell House, Jagran’s body was cremated at Adventure’s burial & cremation grounds early morning Friday May 30th, with Alice, Sid and friends attending.
