ART FOR LAND
The Art for Land Exhibition and land fundraiser is an action of beauty and creativity for a cause, aimed at helping to secure a unified and harmonious physical base for Auroville by bringing support to the «Acres for Auroville» land campaign. It is also a reputed showcase for Auroville’s dynamic artistic creativity.
With its ever-growing professional-quality collection of creations in various media, AFL is also a reputed showcase for Auroville’s dynamic artistic creativity.
Artists from Auroville, the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, from India and the Auroville International (AVI) centers abroad have generously contributed their works to support fundraising for Auroville’s designated but still-missing Master Plan land.
Many of the participating artists enjoy wide recognition throughout India and some works by Sri Aurobindo Ashram artists from an earlier time have been seen and blessed by The Mother.
The works can be viewed and purchased at Auroville’s Unity Pavilion during the exhibitions and all-year online at https://artforland.in/
Art for Land’s inspiring exhibitions are complemented by associated fundraising events – concerts and dance performances (some broadcast on Zoom), inspiring presentations, and stimulating art workshops – in addition to everyone’s favorite, the annual Generosity Fair – and each exhibition’s opening inauguration.
The proceeds from Art for Land sales and event donations go the Acres for Auroville land campaign and are used for securing land consolidation and land protection in Auroville’s Master Plan area.
Shipping of works from Auroville is managed by donors at their own expense with the assistance of the AFL team.
