Volunteering in Auroville

In Auroville we are all volunteers - each resident offers energy, time, and skill in the service of a shared spiritual and city‑building ideal.

Discover Your Place in Auroville

While Aurovilians make a life‑long commitment, temporary volunteers are also welcomed to experience life here for a defined period (from three months up to one year) and discover whether a deeper call to join the community arises.

The Admissions & Terminations Registry (ATR) accompanies the journey of every volunteer - before arrival and throughout their stay - to ensure that orientation, work placement, housing and visa are organised in accordance with current regulations.

Why Volunteer in Auroville?

Participate in the ongoing construction of a visionary universal township based on Sri Aurobindo and The Mother’s Integral Yoga - in the manifestation of the City The Earth Needs.

Contribute your knowledge and creativity to more than 150 projects and services in education, ecology, architecture & planning, renewable energy, art & culture, organic farming, appropriate technology, health & healing, administration, and more.

Experience collective living that transcends nationality, religion, and social background while cultivating inner growth.
