Murugan Adhimoolam
In the morning of 11 August our good friend and brother Murugan Adhimoolam unexpectedly passed away at the age of 43.
Hailing from Kottakarai, Murugan joined Auroville in 2007 and has been working with Michael in Dana’s Flame Pottery. He lived in Courage with his wife Meena (who does the catering for Transition School) and their two children Adhavan and Arthi , both at college in resp. Chennai and Pondy.
Apart from his work at the pottery, Aurovilians may have experienced Murugan’s calm and friendly presence at Matrimandir duty, the organisation of the Marathons and Sangamam festivities and other such events. He also helped Celestine with her art work on Auroville’s roads.
Murugan’s remains were taken to Farewell and in the afternoon of Sunday 12 August the burial took place at Adventure’s burial grounds with many of his family and frinds from Auroville and Kottakarai attending.
