June 9th

It was with shock and sadness that we heard of the untimely demise of Aurovilian R. Kovalan, who passed away during a road accident between Thiruvannamalai and Tindivanam in the evening of Friday June 9th.

About

Kovalan came from Edayanchavadi and joined Auroville in 2000. Most of us knew him from his work in Auronet. Being highly qualified in IT, he entirely programmed the first interactive AVNet version during the initial years of his stay here. After this he spent some time in France from where he recently returned. He was a bright young man, who had turned 31 years old just this last April.

Kovalan's remains were cremated on Saturday, June 10th, at 6.00 pm at the Edayanchavadi cremation ground near the Visitors Centre. Our love and condolences go out to his grieving mother, brothers and sisters.

In true mourning we inform the community that this morning, Thursday March 2nd, our good friend and dear dear sister Jossy passed away in the Auroville Health Centre at 4.30 am. She was, and has been throughout the process, closely surrounded by her family.

March 15th

This is to inform the community that long-time Aurovilian and old friend, Raymond Thépot, has left his body this morning, Wednesday March 15th, at 07.45 am in his house in Fraternity, in the presence of his daughter who had arrived from France just in time. Raymond was 71 years old.

We have just been informed that Ilse Breijman, longtime holder of the Auroville International Netherlands and Aurovilian since the last ten years, has left her body shortly after arriving in the Netherlands for the summer months.
