Juanita
This is to inform the community that Juanita Cole, our Aurovilian sister and friend, left her body in Denver, Colorado, USA on 15 July of this year. She was 81 years old.
Juanita, who worked as a communications officer for the USA state department, has been in touch with Auroville since the seventies and, when retiring in 1991, came to live here for good.
Being absolutely devoted to Mother, Juanita lived her dedication through her warm hospitality and loving generosity towards Matrimandir and innumerable other big and small occasions in the city.
Apart from participating for some time in the Entry Service, she loved farming and worked long hours in her Felicity garden, growing vegetables for Solar Kitchen. Many of us will remember the little flower bouquets on SK’s tables that she put together for us, as well as for the innumerable gatherings, concerts, meetings, thanksgiving dinners, etc. , which she gracefully hosted in her Felicity home.
Juanita’s radiant, un-assuming and elegant presence was a blessing for the City of Dawn. Our loving gratitude, respect and fond memories accompany her on the way to the Light.
