Raja Kalidas

Raja had many close friends in and around Auroville, many of whom had spent time with him here or in Kodaikanal. Raja was an Aurovilian in spirit and he left many of us inspired by the enthusiasm and sincerity of his pursuit of his yoga, a journey which took him from the bhakti yoga of Tiruvanmalai to the karma yoga of Sri Aurobindo. 

Raja’s life of yogic simplicity and intensity, coupled with his wide knowledge and experience of spiritual traditions, enriched all of us who encountered his ever-compassionate presence.
