Janine Morisset
Janine Wanda Mirra Morisset (1924-2018) was the eldest of Mother's two grand-daughters. Her sister, Françoise Marie-Thérèse Morisset (Pournapréma, 1931-2008), passed away ten years ago, the same year as her ex-husband Roger Anger.
Janine is survived by her daughter, Fabienne Monique Bernard, who carried the Auroville flag during Auroville's inauguration ceremony, while her cousin Kalya poured some Auroville earth in the Urn.
A few years ago Janine came to Puducherry to spend here the last years of her life. Her daughter Fabienne and husband Judson have been looking after her. They lived in the house diagonally opposite Senteur.
Janine had worked at UNESCO in Paris and, together with her father Andre Morisset (1898-1982), she has played an important role in the Sri Aurobindo Centre there.
