Highly Appreciated Tamil Teacher in Auroville Outreach Schools
Our dear friend and sister Aurovilian Karpagavalli Selvanambi, left her body in the evening of Tuesday 22nd August, in a Madurai nursing home to which she earlier had been taken after a stroke in 2013. Members of her family were with her; she was 72 years old.
About
Karpagavalli was a qualified, lively and highly appreciated teacher in the Tamil language who joined Auroville in 1992. She worked in Isaiambalam school, Ilaignarkal Education Centre, Transformation school and Arulvazhi Education Centre, and will be remembered by many of her pupils and colleagues.
Her remains were cremated on the 23rd in her hometown Madurai.
