Be thyself immortal, and put not thy faith in death; for death is not of thyself, but of thy body." Sri Aurobindo

Passings

Within the context of spiritual beliefs, death cannot be seen as an end but rather as a transition in the ongoing journey of an individual's consciousness. This section has been published in order to create a space of remembrance for all of those who lived, struggled and enjoyed in Auroville, making a conscious effort to manifest the Dream of Human Unity that is in the process of emerging.

Add your recollections

Please send us your recollections or photographs so that they can be added to the specific Passings' page in order to commemorate the individual person's years of dedication to Auroville and its ideals. Send your input to webcontent@auroville.org.in where Abha and Giri will take care of it.

The web team would like to express its appreciation for two long-term Aurovilians, Mauna (who created obituaries from 2006 to 2023) and Annemarie (2024-present), as well as Krishna, for their effort and dedication to the "Passings" project.
