			Human evolution has reached a point of crisis in which there are only two possibilities left: a radical change in human nature, or the extinction of the human species. As if to precipitate the positive future and establish it as an inevitable certainty, the Mother created Auroville. Auroville serves a unique purpose in the collective human evolution and its existence is a promise of the future unity of mankind. The means for the realisation of this Ideal is the body of knowledge and experience that we refer to as Yoga. This talk discusses the crisis of human evolution, the occult and spiritual need and role of Auroville, and elaborates the essential processes of Yoga by which human evolution can be consciously accelerated to realise a divine life on Earth. Sraddhalu Ranade is a scientist, educationist and scholar residing at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry, India . He is presently involved in various activities including video productions, software development, and teacher-training programmes.
